Bad Binch TONGTONG x NYFW

Artistic Director, Stefanie Nelson x Bad Binch TONGTONG (BBTT) by designer Terrence Zhou collaborated on his acclaimed New York Fashion Week debut. Zhou creates an eccentric aesthetic focusing on emotion over functionality and redefining fashion, earning him global internet recognition on covers such as Vogue, Teen Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire, Elle, and Wallpaper, as well as a plethora of star-studded clients including: Lizzo, Halsey, Eileen Gu, Christina Aguilera, Camila Cabello, Karlie Kloss, Olivia Rodrigo Liu Wen, Ju Xiaowen, Lorde, Kirsten Dunst.

Through Zhou and Nelson’s found synergy, both in design and in presentation, two practices intertwine to pose enticing questions: can clothing defy gravity? What does fashion mean in relation to the body? Will fashion supersede our physical notions of clothing altogether? The duo feels comfortable challenging the norm: Zhou has no reservations to break rules surrounding shape and wearability, while Nelson’s direction and historical inclusion of differently abled bodies push the universality of beauty in more ways than one.
